Project Two - Community 3G Sports Pitch

3G Pitch Community Pitch

“Exercise not only changes your body. It changes your mind, your attitude and your mood.”

Our Vision  – Create an All-Weather Sports Facility that helps to build relationships, fitness and mental well-being in our community.

Physical exercise is not only important for the body it is beneficial for the mind too. It not only helps us to stay fit and healthy it provides an opportunity for people to come together which builds relationship and can really help our well-being. The Governors at Holy Trinity Primary School (HTPS) are seeking your support to use this amazing opportunity from Surrey to make a long lasting difference to the health and well-being of our community.

We are trying to secure funding (c.£700-750k) to enable HTPS to build an all-weather pitch 3G, Fenced with Sports Lighting (61 x 43) 2,623m² to enhance our sports facilities during school time as well as offer all-year round community use out of school hours at weekends and during school holidays.

We would love local clubs, societies, groups of adults/parents to fill all the non-school time slots available i.e. those periods when HTPS would not be using the pitch. Our working assumption is that HTPS would make use of the pitch (Mon-Friday 8am to 3.30pm).

Whilst the pitch would have full size capability it would also be marked out for much smaller matches to ensure all age groups could use the facility and to allow multiple matches/training to run simultaneously in separated areas. Ideally, those groups who would use the pitch would be as diverse and inclusive as possible – to really make it a community resource. This is a fantastic opportunity to have all-weather facilities to help bring the local community together in physical activity.

We’re hopeful we could find local takers for the later weekday evening slots but really need your support to find weekend afternoon/evening users (12.30-9pm) and also takers for the immediate post school weekday period (3.30-6pm).

Please make contact with the school if you have any ideas or contacts to help us make this happen and please share this potential opportunity with your own networks. If you think you’d like to make use of such a facility for sport and recreation or if you are part of a club which requires indoor space all year round then please contact the school to register your interest.
