Clean for the Queen Campaign

Our eco warrior team have been leading a project on waste this term. As part of the project we took part in the Clean for the Queen campaign.

Clean for the Queen is a national initiative supported by Keep Britain Tidy. Its aim is to clean up Britain in time for the Queen’s 90th birthday in June 2016.

Whole School Litter Pick - Everyone in the school spent some time on Friday 4th March collecting litter around our school grounds. All our classes have a rota for litter picking and although we keep our school very tidy all year round we still found a surprising amount of rubbish on the day!

Community Litter Pick – Some of the children and families from school also took part in a community event in West End to help clear up the litter around the village. We joined together with the Parish Council, West End Village Society as well as The Cubs, Rainbows and Guides. It was a cold morning but hunting for litter helped to keep everyone warm and the refreshments at the pavilion certainly went down well!
